one reason to buy from an authorized dealear. a. i dont have to worry about having stolen property, and b. if everybody buys from authorized dealers, the stolen cameras wont have very much value.

Well, that depends on what you want. If you didn't pre-order a 24-105Z or 10-20 f/4, 100-300 f/2.8. etc., you still can't get one now.

Just spend a few days in Europe. Delivery for 24-105 F2,8 and 100-300: 1-3 days!
But RF 10-20: 3-6 months.

Only for stupid gear-heads. For photographers...no. No reason at all. Will it do a great job for Canon shooters? Without question. That's the only requirement.

Perhaps, it is just British vs US use of English, but do you not think that "spelling and grammar errors" would be preferable to "spelling and grammar error" and "goes back to being impeccable" is more idiomatic than "goes back to be impeccable"?

I don't think "exiting" for "exciting" is British vs US spelling.

Expectations are high with Canon being awfully quiet lately and everyone waiting five years for the mythical R1.

Five years? Troll much? The R1 is a 1-series body. Starting from the 1D X, we have 2012 > 2016 > 2020 > ____. What number should go in that blank?

The R5 Mk2 is going to be available at end of June / early July which is basically the start of H2 2024 and the R1 will be available towards the end of 2024. There are many lenses rumored as well, which will probably ship in H2 2024. It is a bit of speculation, but we shall see.
