Canon EOS R1. Canon’s Flagship Re-Invented.

There was no mention of APS-C in the list of specs (the comparison page doesn't really count), and milliseconds are easily mixed with microseconds.

The chances of it being BS are not zero, but then that would mean there's literally a saboteur working at Adorama. The chances it was a simple mishap/user error are much higher in my opinion.
I still have the page loaded.
1000x difference. Easy!
Poor proof reading or BS.

At the same time there's this old Canonrumors post with basically same specs, as somebody pointed out on DPR.

So either they used those on Adorama (again, why would they unless it's a sabotage?), or both lists came from the same source, likely Canon.

Adorama looks bad either way. Either they (or Canon) make a statement or the rumour mill continues

As pointed out above, they did list APS-C in the specs. And now you’re suggesting that Canon doesn’t know the difference between milliseconds and microseconds? Lol.

As you stated, it’s a word-for-word copy of what CR posted. Including, “Enhanced dynamic range, better than EOS R3 and EOS R5,” which is nothing like Canon-speak.

OK, your thoughts have already been passed to the mirrorless team at Canon. They'll try to do their best to meet your requirements (nope).
That’s fine, I formally purchased the 1DX series bodies, just sold my R3… if Canon doesn’t want my money Sony can continue to widen their lead. I’m not the only one that’s thinking this.

It depends on how exactly the original spec sheet from Canon looked like.
It doesn't need to be an exact copy-paste, it could be an interpretation of a more technical spec sheet from Canon not usable as a product description.

"0.8 ms" could've been retyped as "0.8 microseconds". Also, both spec sheets from Canonrumors and from Adorama could be coming from the same source.

Petapixel is leaning towards believing it:

Feel free to keep believing. Some of the specs are reasonable, but the R1 is clearly not going to have an APS-C sensor or a 0.8 µs readout speed....and Petapixel also apparently believes the latter. They seem to have missed the fact that Adorama's spec list is a copy-paste from a CR rumor post.

You switch from camera company to camera company and act like it is some big deal every time.
They all get your money eventually.

The details are scant right now but between the rumors and what seems to have been confirmed and what we can see from the EOS R1 objectively, we can probably make some good assumptions about what we do expect from these cameras. The TL;DR from the press announcement is basically; I’ll be updating this article

For me R5ii v R1 v My R5 - is going to depend on the sensor megapexels. If the R5ii or R1 turn out to be 60MP+ then I'll jump but so far I haven't seen much to encourage me to upgrade my R5.

It'll be interesting to see the actual specs and compare later on. 0.8us and APS-C are minor misprints.
Things like 30Mpix sensor and 1/1250s sync time are very particular so we will see the discrepancies right away.

Being deliberately naive here: the CR article could be accurate because the source(s) had correct and real info. Which would make the Adorama copy/paste job accurate by association :)
