Hoping for seriously updated EVF on this. Ergonomics-wise, it looks like they removed the thumb wheel on the back. Not good.

The biggest issue on the SX50, besides being able to press buttons with my big fingers, was the inability to zoom in or out at a slow enough rate to properly frame a object. In particular, a bird that oftens moves nefore I can zoom just tight.

Two speed zooms have been around for a long time, at last back in the 1980's on video camcorders. This long zoom range needs a 2 speed zoom and badly.

65x starting at 20mm? 24mm? My Panny fz70 is 60x (20-1200mm) so I'll need more info/specs/IQ to see if the sx60 is enough of an upgrade for me to buy.

According to the source "DCI" the Canon SX60 will feature a 65X zoom range (possibly 21-1365mm equivalent).
There will be more information in the next 2-3 days, that's for sure and keep in mind the photokina 2014 starts next week.

They have arrived in my part of the world!! I am picking up one for my wife tomorrow. The 65X zoom range is correct. Other details can be found on the B&H site - www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1080919-REG/canon_9543b001_powershot_sx60_hs_digital.html

They still have it on pre-order status, but if it is in my part of the world (Western Canada) then they should have it soon.
