Are you just trolling, or do you have something about the design of the C300 sensor to contribute?

So it looks to be similair in surface area to a and aps-c sensor, but with a wide screen 1920 x 1080 style format.
The “rolling shutter” effect is reduced with higher sampling rates of 1/60th sec for 1/24 &30 frame rates.

To me it does not look to be much different from current d-SLR technology and i'm not in awe of it, but i'm not a video person.

Could someone explain why they didn't go for a larger sensor that maintains the 1.78 aspect ratio, but would still be compatible with their lenses? For example why not a 35X20mm sensor?

It seems like the industry has settled on this size (super-35) why?

Well because there is so much legacy support for that size.

The sensor technology is pretty amazing. The way it is read and how the color values are deemed is different from DSLRs... mainly there is no debarring happening. Combined with larger photo sites, should make for pretty amazing imagery.

I'm hoping to get a loaner from my Canon contact in the next couple weeks to see if it really is awesome
