Canon to Merge Two Lenses Into an RF 24-70mm f/2L IS?

When I go out to shoot birds, I now bring only the supertele. I used to bring along a standard zoom, 'just in case', but after a few years of never using it I no longer bother unless I know there will be landscape opportunities.

However, when traveling I am always opportunistic. I bring the 10-20/4, a standard zoom (typically 24-105/4), the 100-500L or RF 100-400, and several lenses in between...usually a TS-E, a fast prime for indoor shooting, etc.). I bring several lenses in a carryon, but use a shoulder bag with a subset of them for any given outing.
I'm very interested in the 10-20/4, Neuro. You are the go to guy for knowledge. How do you like the lens? Thanks.

It's a seriously fun lens!

If Canon releases two F2 zooms with each under 1kg weight, I´m seriously going to restructure my lens line up. It´s going to be fun :)
A 24-70/2 would replace my 28-70/2, for sure.

I’d have to think carefully about a 50/70-150/180mm f/2 lens. After getting the 100-300/2.8, and with the 85/1.2 DS for portraits, I rarely use the 70-200/2.8. When I do, it’s for indoor events where the 100-300/2.8 is inconvenient and I bring the 70-200 as a compact alternative. I suspect I’d pass on an f/2 telezoom.
