Canon Universal IS Unit

Would this be the ultimate dream accessory, or what?

Feasible? Who knows? But I think it is "possible". The IS Unit would receive specific info from the mounted lens and then make IS adjustments peculiar to that lens. Light loss? Probably some, perhaps 1/4 stop? IQ loss? Again, perhaps some, but if it would use fluorite ($$$) and/or UD glass, then it would be minimal. Worth it? As our good friend Surapon has said, "I'd buy 12!"

Thanks, Dear Friend Mr. Jumbo Shrimp
I will get 12 of them for the Canon L Lens that do not have IS----- Plus If you can design and Build " Universal AF " for Canon EOS/ EF mounted Lenses---I need a bunch of them for Both Germany, Korean + Made In China Lens too.
Wow, That are a great Idea----BUT One more question---If I stack this " Universal IS" 3-4 of them, Can I shoot the 85 mm. F 1.2 Lens on total Dark with Shutter speed 1/10 sec. with out Motion blur---For X-Rated Photos ?
Just want to have FUN, Nice to talk to you, Sir.

It's a dream accessory. ::) But it's just a dream. ???

The Optical Image Stabilizer must move a certain group of elements within the lens. If there were an accessory to add to any Image Stabilizer lens model (externally), this would cause loss of quality by adding more glass in the path of light, non-planned way when the lens was designed.
