Update: My R3 has arrived at my local dealer in the US. I will pick it up tomorrow during lunch.

Lucky you!! I hope to have one in hand by end of the week although I am not holding my breath.

My local dealer just called and he has one for me in stock as of today, but for legal reasons they cannot release the camera until Friday at 9 am. I purchased from Hunt's Photo in Melrose MA, but I was very early on the list.

Same here. I ordered from B&H at 6 a.m. the day of the announcement, but I suspect I will not hear anything until Friday from B&H.

Agreed, I’m sure they won’t send an email until it’s being prepared for shipment (and they’ve charged your card).

Lol. Not really – the only things I’ve pre-ordered were the 1D X and the 600/4 II.
