Canon Won't Be Announcing Anything Until Q4

If you thought he presented his opinions as facts, well, you are just wrong. What he did was point out when others (so many others) presented their opinions as facts. Sad that you can't tell the difference and exactly why - despite his faults - he was a valuable member of this forum.
Agree to disagree. From my observation, he was very good at cherry picking factoids to portray his opinions as supposedly irrefutable truth. As MikeGalos noted above, this usually manifested as Canon's financial success being interpreted as their products being superior in every single aspect.

Whatever your opinion on how intellectually honest he was, what seems to be universally accepted here was that he was incredibly toxic and there was no need for that.

He pointed out that an established and conservative company can transition against younger rivals and still be both relevant and financially sound. Without a continuing solid financial basis, R&D gets hammered. Canon has maintained their dominant market share despite huge market changes (volumes and technology) and still brought out good products that users were happy to buy - even if somewhat expensive.

Clearly you have misquoted Neuro as he would never have said "their products being superior in every single aspect". This is the type of comment that he would come back hard on - and deservedly so. Canon made lots of missteps over decades but in aggregate has kept a thriving business alive and relevant.

Nikon wasn't doing well financially. The pricing, technology and volumes for the Z8/Z9 were compelling and may have kept them alive albeit with a distant 3rd position for market share. Volumes count in this industry even if they are lower end models as long as they are profitable.

Whatever your opinion on how intellectually honest he was, what seems to be universally accepted here was that he was incredibly toxic and there was no need for that.
Acerbic - yes.
Toxic - not so much. If you didn't like his comments then you always had the option to block him.

He was knowledgeable. He also conveyed a negative tone and resorted to repeated insults or condescension that, for me dramatically reduced most of the benefits of reading his posts. His insults were so common that I would regularly show my wife when members would call him out on it.
The past several months he did however moderate his tone and occasionally compliment other members. It felt like a breath of fresh air when I saw a positive comment from him. I would also point these improvements to my wife.

Overall to me, it's a wash.
He was one of the reasons I came to this site for his vast knowledge, but he is also the reason I rarely post here.

I posted about if canon was so good at knowing the market, why did they not have enough of product "X" to meet demand. And his reply was that I was a Troll. I admit I don’t know as much about the photography industry and photography in general but to insult and put down a beginner is unacceptable.

His attitude seemed to be “I don’t suffer fools” and would not miss an opportunity to insult the person while giving a knowledgeable answer to something. Not everyone is smart enough to be a Neuro Anatomist.

Just a guy with a camera. So, yeah, it’s a wash with me too.

Well Cariboucoach, feel free to drop on by and post some images that you were pleased to have taken. We all enjoy seeing the results of member's efforts. I think you will find a more pleasant reception than being labeled a troll.
I have gotten positive responses from some of my posted images. I have also noticed that my less successful images were not ridiculed, but left to exist with their little online lives. No ridicule, no harm, no foul.

Craig confirmed that he was banned on page #5 and said the reason was "that's internal and will remain there forever."
I politely dissagree.
R1-7D asked "And what about Neuro?"

Graig did not state Neuro was banned, but said,"To the first question; that's internal and will remain there forever."

I have not read any confirmations of him being banned, and I don't intend to just assume so.

I've spoken with Neuro outside CR and he says his account has been removed
