Blast - I knew I should've waited.

I bought the refurb for for ~$1400 a few weeks back but Canon USA added sales tax which pushed it up to almost $1500... would've jumped on this deal had it been available as B&H doesn't appear to charge tax for my state...

The 24-70 II at 1699 is a good deal, I guess (still too expensive for this lens IMO)... But despite its great IQ this lens is a missed opportunity without Image Stabilization for video & low light. If Tamron can do it, why can't Canon? For 2299 MSRP, the lens should have IS.

Cute. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are such great deals now lol. What is this called? "Oh crap we didn't go low enough Wednesday." Sigh. Didn't they give people the price cut on like lightroom or something when it came out much cheaper right after something? Wonder how many e-mails they are receiving now.

If you're saying we will see, for example either Adorama, B&H, or Amazon, selling a new 6D body by holidays 2013, for under $1500 US dollars...I will be surprised.

That's what I was saying...are you surprised now? $1507 cost today, 2% reward means $30 back, and $145 in free stuff.

I haven't tried the tamron version hands-on but I could tell you that the 24-70 II is amazing. The colors that lens brings out is really something. and it is very very sharp. needless to say. It is very expensive considering other lenses but if I had money for it, I'd go for it!

I was wrong on this also - didn't think the price would drop this low so quickly. I paid $2,099 last December when the 6D was first introduced, so definitely paid an early buyers penalty. The quality of the pictures I was able to get with the 6D over my previous camera (7D) were worth it to me however.

Mail-in-rebates don't work if you purchase from B&H and have it shipped to Canada, correct?

Right now on Amazon.com, the 6D is $1415. Ships from/sold by Amazon, not a 3rd party seller.

OK, just spent all my christmas gift money on... me! New 24-70 II on the way. I think I will trim the kit down a little and sell:
24-105 (A work horse and awesome lens for the money, but now redundant)
50mm Sigma f1.4 (awesome Bokeh, but I hardly ever use it)
40mm pancake (Cute, Fun but slow to focus)

Anyway...
