EF-S 10-22 stock levels drying up??

Hi All! First post...

I have been thinking seriously about buying an EF-S 10-22 lately. It was $529 on Amazon, dropped for about a day to $499 a few days after Xmas, then back to $529. I knew I should have bought it then....

Then 2 days ago, up to $589, and then tonight up to $599 and it says only 1 left in stock.

Also, the grey market version on B&H is no longer listed.



Anybody have any insight on this?

I was wanting one for my 7D before I head to Hawaii in Feb.

does it have to be new? plenty of used copies available for sale...

It is possible they may release a new version with IS and/or STM to coincide with the 7D2.

But, if that happens, it will like debut with a price of at least $899.
