not stressing mate! I have not burned $3500 for the body! the only interesting picture that I see in your posting is the one with the buggy - but again, any camera who shots in RAW - you can post process the images and do HDR to get nice textures and pleasing dynamics in the pic!

So what are you saying.

Only HDR for pleasing DR ?
Like the 5D is not capable of anything anymore.

Please show us YOUR portfolio

This whole thing is blown out of proportion.
Like so many other things on the forums these days.

It's not like every image needs 100% fill light or + 5 exposure.

I really enjoyed the number three picture of the girl in the crowd. Which lens did you use, and at what aperture?

First of all, let me answer your question :) -
LENS: 70-200mm 2.8 Canon L Lens
APERTURE: f/5.0

I work on a YouTube channel with my partner Devin Graham aka (devinsupertramp). We have a habit of organizing and shooting events, but we always incorporate a twist. This paintball video is going to be insane. We have trucks jumping over other trucks, para-gliders with guns, all sorts of battle vehicles, and over 60 people fighting. I'm very excited for the release of this project, and I'll definitely post it here for you guys to enjoy!

We shoot everything on Canon DSLR's. This will be one of our first videos shot entirely on 5D MKIII's

hey tasteofjace I really love your shots, and I'm really impressed with how sharp they are, can I ask, are you happy with the overall sharpness of the camera? Id be tempted to ask if it was ever possible for you to send me a couple of your RAW files so I can view at 100% I really want this camera, but whats holding me back has been the overall sharpness, and now im thinking its been user error when I look at your files,

here is my email if that would be possible, id be so grateful

Very nice shots but are you implying that these could not be taken without a 5DIII?
I see you have 5DIII and 7D, which means that this as your 1st FF camera.
If that is the case it goes without saying that you made the right choice.
However I am sure that you could have taken these nice pictures with a 5DII and a 7D

Not exactly sure who you are directing this towards?? I myself do not have a 7D. What I loved about the MKIII was it's ability to capture action. I'm still learning the vast auto focus system, but it performed wonderfully and allowed me to get some great action shots from the day. Also, I was shooting in many different lighting conditions over the 2 day shoot, and never had issues with the metering system. It's just an absolute pleasure to work with this camera.

Sorry. I have read the signature of another poster and assumed it was yours. My mistake.

Great shots! I really think the 5DMIII was made for crazy events like these.

It definitely is the most versatile camera I've used. Like I said in my original post, I mostly shoot video with Canon DSLR's, but this camera has been great for every situation I've been in. Both for stills and video. :D
