Upon shooting with it for the first time today, I simply adore my mark 4. Surprisingly the slight weight gain does make a little difference, and the 30 MP is a lot better for what I shoot. Mind you, for dropping 5G on a camera body which isn't even top of the line, you should get something pretty darn good. To be honest, it is pretty darn good, but that's all. There are no nifty new surprises or anything like that, and TBH looking at the photos on the computer it's virtually impossible to tell if they were shot on a mark 3 or 4. Those of you who also bit the bullet, what are your thoughts so far?

That's weird my fictitious 5D4 is actually lighter, and in my head I fantasize that it makes no difference!

I was pissed because i thought I was getting my Mark IV today and some bozo put a Sony in the package instead.

The OP reminds me of the guy that posted a photo of his studio, except it wasn't HIS studio.

All credibility lost.

Liar, liar, pants on fire. :o :o :o ::)

Can't even get the price of the body right. ::)

Here I was thinking it was the one thing he did get right. Where I am, after tax it comes out to very close to 5G.

The rest of the situation is.. I want to say funny, but it's so rediculous that it's not.

Ouch! You must be in an extremely high tax state or another country. In Nevada, USA our state and local sales tax is 8%. That brings the $3,499 body out the door at $3,778.92. I wouldn't buy it locally though... so no tax or shipping. Local for me is 90 miles away in Las Vegas.

I know there's a VAT and much higher sales tax other places. I feel your pain. :( It sucks.

Still, I won't be buying this time around. My 5D mark III isn't even a year old yet. So I'll probably skip this and the next model.

If you are buying I wish you all the best and I hope it is a great camera. Good luck! :)

In Quebec. $4,490 for the body, plus 5% Federal (Canadian) sales tax, plus 9.975% provincial sales tax. Which comes out to $5,173.85. (Which is actually only 4K USD so actually not too bad)

No I won't be buying- I had been hoping for a lower price Mark IV actually, just to flood the used market with mark III's. It may do that, but at that price, it won't lower the used price much as I had hoped.

You need a friend in the USA who can buy for you and ship to you. Luckily we do not have a national sales tax or VAT... yet.
