just a matter of time....

And particularly with the touchscreen interface, it really should not matter where the touchscreen is... on the back of a camera, a phone, or a tablet with a large enough screen to see decent images from liveview. The screen on a DSLR body will NEVER be as good as an iPad or similar screen.

When mentioning the iPad, are you referring to the size of the screen or the other aspects of it (dpi, color rendition, etc)?

If you are referring to size, I agree. Reviewing on a larger screen is always preferred. However, I do think that that the screen on the back of the 5D3 that I played with in a store is pretty darn good, especially compared to the xTi of '07.

I too saw the manual and skimmed thru it. also it has a AUTO ISO feature. looks like Canon is adding some 5D/7D/1D features to the 70D. Wish they would allow the naming of the files with initials Example IMG = RSB etc. or maybe expand the file seq to greater than 4 digits. is this a limitation to the File naming standards?
havING a seq # greater tthan 4 digits would help in future file names but there is always the DPP software for renames. OR IMnnnnnn.JPG or CR2 thoughts?

What do you mean by 'a AUTO ISO feature'? Auto ISO is available on pretty much every Canon camera with a digital sensor.

The first DSLRs in each class to have Auto ISO (outside of Full Auto mode - which I assume Ronald was talking about) were the 40D, T1i (500D), 5D Mark II, 1D Mark IV and 1Ds Mark III. I know with recent models that they have improved the implementation of Auto ISO selection (I believe it was with 5D Mark III, 1Dx and 6D).

The nice part with the 70D Auto ISO is you can now set a minimum shutter speed like on the FF cameras. That is an improvement I was waiting for in Av mode when I want to stay faster than 1/60 with the kids.

That really makes auto ISO really useful. Looks like I can finally use it full time.
