yay looks fantastic! But I still don't understand what the center top wheel is for. Maybe custom function...

You guys think that Canon will also announce a mark II version of the EOS EF/M adapter? After reading about the new EVF-DC2, the next step would be to offer some kind of speedbooster EF/M adapter.

Note the magnifying glass just under that dial. Very handy way to magnify the view in the EVF without taking your eye away. It's a bit awkward on the M3, but you get use to it. May provide a different function when not looking through the EVF. Assignable even better. Plus there appears to be a dial function button at the center of the wheel to allow you to cycle through functions for the wheel, possibly with an indicator on the viewfinder or flippy screen.

Picked up C2 and a pop-up flash as well. Wonder if it can master like the EX90? Only missing a good image of the back panel controls.

There's a button on the front in around the lens mount, in the typical DoF preview place.

Flash release button looks to be mechanical judging by how far it protrudes.

I've also noticed that for the first time on a Canon mirrorless, there's a cable release socket.

Hope all the non-AvTvMs out there like it. For me...pass. The M2 works for me because of its small size. This, not so much.

PBD, thanks for the gifs!

My pleasure. Maybe you should merge this thread with the CR announcement http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=30754.0

...in my hands I enjoy using the M2 for its size-and-weight (i.e. tiny-and-light)--and prefer it for these reasons...even over the M3!

I think the following data are legit:

body dimensions (mm) weight (g) including battery
Rebel XT 127x94x64 540
Rebel S1 117x91x69 407
M2 108x66x32 274
M3 111x68x44 366
M5 116x89x61 427 (I presume this includes the battery but not sure)

I will have to see for myself how the M5/11-22 combination feels in my hand before purchasing what otherwise looks like a nice addition to the M line; as often stated on these pages (and with some exceptions [sports needing zoom, precise focus with zoom, and occasions that require the lowlight/high ISO/quality offered by the 5DMk3/35mmIS2.0]), I have found that the M2/11-22/270flash triplet is more than satisfactory for 90% of my family pictures.

And an important reason for the use of this particular gear? Size-and-weight with a very good wide-angle lens.

I read through the many M5 image leak comments today. I noticed the power switch has been moved to the left side and is a more traditional slider switch. On my M3 the damn power micro-button is recessed and requires precise placement of the tip of my index finger. Forget about using mittens or gloves.
