EOS R1, EOS R5 Mark II, EOS R6 Mark III Firmware Coming in May?

A feature that I would love to see but I've never even seen it brought up before would be: Focus stacking where you could focus close, mark it, (push a button?) focus far, mark it and then have the camera calculate the required focus points between and shoot them.

That would certainly be an easy way to do it. Not sure if any other cameras offer that feature, it’s how nearly every confocal, multiphoton, and widefield deconvolution microscope I’ve used for the past couple of decades has collected Z stacks.

Get rid of that stupid movie-stills / menu data in the screen and I will be happy, anything else is a bonus.

WTF thought that was a good idea to make a permanent feature in the display!!!
What? You don't like this wonderful message? I cannot get enough of it.
For me, it's a perpetual source of bliss! :devilish:

I love how some people think the crop factor magically increases focal length without affecting anything else, and other people think a speed booster magically makes a lens faster without affecting anything else.

I mean, it has 0.71x right in the name. Or maybe, people are just bad at math and think 0.71 × 200 = 200.
Yeah, the opposite of a focal length extender which everyone knows gives you more focal length but oddly some people think a focal length reducer (Canon's accurate name for the device) doesn't do what it says on the box ;)
Just have to look at what your Canon camera tells you when you use either of these things right there in your EVF/rear screen it shows you the actual focal length:ROFLMAO:

I am praying for any eye focus software improvements.
What like actually working? Crazy talk !
My old EOS 30v film camera the eye controlled focus works flawlessly moving around all 9 focus points but on my EOS R5ii I can't even see the calibration points properly let alone calibrate the damn thing !

It works pretty well for me, but I wish for it to be perfect :)

I am not sure which one you are refering to, but I'd also like to have more granular control over what it's displayed on the EVF.

I want to be able to program a button to toggle pre shooting off and on. Otherwise, I'm good.
I feel you. As we do not have this button (yet), I just keep it active whenever I'm in electronic shutter mode. Through using back button focus, I can choose to use pre capture by holding the shutter button or just do single photos or normal bursts by just fully pressing it.

Funny!
Some days are "calibrating-days", some other days are, after the 20th. attempt, "I quit-days".

The R5 II is an outstanding camera but I find it really lacking in terms of some creative photography features. Multiple exposure is beyond ridiculous to work with with the format limitations, requirement to stick to one focal length when selecting an existing image for multiple exposure, etc. It's a joke compared to OM System cameras and even my old Canon 90D, which has no problem selecting RAW files, photos taken with a different focal length and outputting a CR3 file with the composite image. Really not a fan of lugging an old DSLR around when I feel like experimenting a little. Looks like all of Canon's mirrorless bodies are similarly limited. This could be changed with a firmware update.

Make Exposure Compensation work in Manual Exposure with Auto ISO.
Huh? What doesn’t work about it?

EC applies to Auto ISO in M mode…for example in M at 1/100, f/2.8 if the camera meters ISO 3200 and I apply +1 EC, then the camera meters ISO 6400.

I don’t have a R5II or R6III that are also slated for the rumored update, but that what happens on my R1. It’s the same on my R8 and even on my PowerShot V1 and M6.

Are you expecting something different?
