The sensor size of the G1x seems an oddball for me, whilst its not an APS-C , it is still slightly bigger then a M43. however does have the 4:3 asepct ratio!
Someone in another forum pointed out that the GH2 sesnor is almost identical in size to the G1x. Could this be an indication that Canon's mirrorless will be a m43?
I think it would make sense as m43 is smaller then the dslr, whilst maintaining good IQ. which is something similar to canon statement recently.
As for the Nikon the V/J1 has got some good reviews, but i think sensor is to small for long term!
now if canon join M43, it would be intersting as already lots of great lenses for the system!
the only reason canon wil not join is because of a EF adapator with autofocus and aperture control! And will not want to hae their lenses on other manufacturers bodies!
Though i do hope they join M43 as i believe the system is the middle road between dslr and compact. And like HTML 5 a open standard is being embraced by many big manufacturers, i hope camera manufacturers use the same.
