Grey Market 1DX - 5D MK III

Has anyone purchased one of the Grey Market bodies from one of the eBay dealers. I wanted to know what the experience was like. The no warranty is not as big a factor as making sure all OEM parts are what is included. If I was to purchase a used 1DX I wouldn't have a warranty anyway. Thanks.

I bought mine from Canada through Canon Price Watch and it came with a Canada (only) warranty card, which is unlike all other bodies that come with a North American warranty card. The only fear I would have with other gray market gear would be that the power cord for the ridiculously expensive charger would be the wrong type. It's a standard cord, however, so it would be an easy fix. Also, the manual may not be in English, but you can download the PDF anyways.

I just got my 5DIII in the mail yesterday from BigValue and it was brand new as described. I even used a shutter app to check, which confirmed it. I wasn't really concerned with the no warranty as I got it for such a great price any repairs that would be needed would still allow me to come out on top.

I bought my 2nd 1Dx for a steal on eBay for $4199 (grey market) a few months ago. I got a call from the vendor (AllNewShop or GetItDigital, I can't remember...) to confirm my ship address but they did not try at all to upsell me on anything.

Arrived 2nd day Air without a fuss. Ran a shutter count app through the USB and it rang up 0. Couldn't be happier with getting a new backup that costs less for a used copy w/o warranty. Loaded with latest firmware and serial # confirms the mirror fix.

Everything came in the box less the paper manual and any Canon warranty card to speak of (obviously). Only three language options however which I thought was weird (English, Chinese and Japanese) since my other 1Dx has so many more despite having the same firmware.

Very satisfied with my purchase.
