HDRI - does canon care?

Hello, one and all, can someone clear this up?

My 40D and G9 both only do 3 shot bracketing, with a 2 stop max between each shot.

Does the 1DS do any better?

I'd like to be able to have 3,6,9 shot bracketing to shoot some great HDRIs.

Please advise, as I patiently wait (and finally have all of my money set aside) for my (hoped for) 5D mark III.

Thanks to all! Very Clever!

On the other hand, what are the chances of canon opening up the Dynamic Range of a RAW image? RED is doing this on their next generation camera (which looks like a Humvee version of a DSLR) and I've seen the video results that are truly amazing!

IMHO, I think HDR photos and adjusting in a post "lightroom" is really the next generation of photography. I'd say 3d, but that's been around since the mid 1800's!

Thoughts?

Your Novice 40D user (but learning as I go),

If you're interested in a large amount of bracketed shots, I recommend you try DSLR Remote Pro. I use it and it takes I think up to 15 shots, but I never go past 9. If you have a laptop and a decent battery in it, you can use it anywhere you need to shoot. And if you have an iPhone you can even use it to control it 8)
