D800 samples are made from post-processed RAW images, while 5D3 samples are out of the camera JPGs with few in-camera processed RAW-to-JPG images. Wait for the RAW samples for fair judgement.

When the D800 and 5DIII get into the hands of some real independent reviews, I think we will get the real picture. Until then, I think we are stuck with maybe and promises.

It is interesting how people seemed really happy with the 18MP of the 1DX, but unhappy twits the 22MP of the 5DIII, Mostly because the Nikon competition is 16 and 36MP respectively.
