Haven't seen it these forums yet but for those who have an IPad and want to wireless tether to your Canon camera......your dream just came true with CamRanger. Check it out. Received one yesterday and it is very impressive!!

anybody compare this device to the DSLR controller app which can be used on ios as well as android and support wireless with wifi direct feature.
Dslr controller app beta costs less than $10 if you just wanna try it out. However reliability of the app is unknown cos I have not used it myself.

I have this combination and I posted on "http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=14823.msg272879#msg272879".
It does help with portraits, macro, etc shots.

I wired my 7d with the camera cable, but it was just for copying photos. Is what you are talking about similar to what the 6D does or does it have even more functionality? I use an iPad mini. Once it connects (it can take a min), it is quick and responsive. Nice to hear that there are 3rd party accessories for other cameras.

Edit: Just watched the video. Looks pretty cool.

Been using the camranger since christmas and I can attest this is the way you want to go. Easy setup, connect flawlessly and so much control. I can't believe I was using the WFT dongles. I am still waiting for the full function PC version (still in BETA) for laptop tether.

the problem of wirless is the lag time, theres no way you could adjust focus and press the shutter button on the ipad nad have it correlate to when you want to fire the shot like if you had your finger on the button, ive tried with my 6d.
