Very good image quality
Today, I was able to test an 5D MKIII, an an MKII with the 100mm 2.8 Macro & 50mm 1.2, the 50mm macro, 24mm 1.4II for taking medical wound pictures at the operating theatre and out patient clinic. We also took some shots of the OP scenes.
Well, what should I say? The imgage quality are both very good. The MKIII is able to shoot better low-light pictures, without using an flashlight. The noise is less than at the MK" pictures. But if you reduce the resolution to store them in the electronic hospital system, it is nearly not visible. Big plus is an very good video quality, filming op scenes with that cameras. The MK3 quality is really great!
The Bias is, that the company, who sales the Cameras had about one hour to "optimize" our pictures anf films, when we had an technical presentation on the mk2 and mk3. Much hot air, much blabla....
The price for the MKIII is about 4500$. Not cheap. Reduced to 3500$ if we take 20 or more MK3 with 2 or more lenses.
Interesting detail: There was an technican from Canon. We asked, wheter there will be interesting cameras and lenses in the near future. He told us, that there will an fast new crop camera, but not this year. And some improved lenses. The bigger lenses will be reduced in weight, with better image quality. But much more expensive....
Next week, another Company will bring in Sony, Nikon and Sigma
