61-point high-density reticular AF (up to 41 crosstype points)

Is this the same as 1DX?

Numerically & descriptively the same from what we can tell from the specs sheet. The interesting thing is that it is not coupled to the 1Dx's new 100,000-pixel, 252-zone RGB metering sensor, but to the older iFCL dual-layer 63-zone metering sensor. Hmmm. :o

"2nd March 2012; 3pm to 6pm" - so that's 8am to 11am tomorrow, here in the UK and 3am to 6am if you're on the East Coast of the USA. I can see some North Americans getting up early tomorrow!

Close, but Shanghai is GMT +8, Eastern Canada/America is GMT-5. 15:00 there will be 02:00 here. ;)

And, converting other numbers $4200 AUS = $4463 CDN!

Other "nitpicks" ;D: "Only" 1080p video, only USB2.0, only CF+SD cards, no XQD, only yada-yada. :P

Agreed but pretty minor squabbles really. I take out my CF cards to dump anyways so the USB speed isn't a factor for me.

I kinda like the idea of SD in conjunction with the CF. SD is so common and cheap - good for just having in the body to dump JPEGS on for RAW+JPEG. Hopefully it has a mode where RAW can go to CF and JPEG can go to SD. If the CF breaks, then you have the SD as safety. So long as both can write at the 6FPS and record in the highest video mode, then that's all that's needed.

As for video...I'm not a video person so the 4K video thing isn't also an issue for me :)

What a great camera though - perfect for my needs. Can't wait to get two of them - I already have buyers lined up for the 5D2 :D
