Nikon Officially Announces the Z5II

I would not derive any conclusions from one (1) month’s data in one (1) country.
Absolutely but also note that this is total full-frame mirrorless body sales and not, like we see in store sales reports from Japan, how one particular model is doing. The one month data from one country in this case likely means the Z5II is doing well enough to pull the entire full frame mirrorless line up to the top position.

Especially a single month so soon after release - the first month or two generally tends to be the highest sales figures for a new release, including (where relevant) the upfront delivery of pre-sales. Not to say this won't do well over time - interesting concept.

Agreed. This is the first time ever that Nikon has been in first position for this metric. They didn't do this near the realease of the Z9 or Z8. This is clearly due to high sales of the Z5II.
