NX300 AF vs. Canon DSLR's

Advertisements for the Samsung NX300 proclaim:

"If you demand performance there's a better option than DSLR"

"Faster than a DSLR - With 8.6 fps continuous shooting the NX300 lets you capture the moments within the moment with a series of brilliantly clear stills"

"Quicker Auto focus - A hybrid AF (auto focus) system combines phase and contrast detection for faster and more accurate auto focusing.

Is this true? I always thought one of the main advantages of DSLR's over mirrorless cameras was auto focus. How would a NX300 compare with a 7D, 70D, 5D3 or 1Dx in terms of auto focus performance for sports and BIF? Anybody with experience with both?

I'm not going to research it, but you often see the hype glossing over the important details like tracking. It does little good to have 8 fps if 7 are out of focus due to lack of focus between shots or any tracking. Some even blank out the lcd or freeze it while doing the high speed shooting. The Canon 70D does this during high speed liveview shooting. You might also think that you could actually get at least 8 or 9 raw images before the buffer filled and the camera halted for it to clear. Five or six is more like it.

Kinda what I thought. I hardly ever shot sports or BIF, so this question is just to satisfy my curiosity.

So, mirrorless camera's do not continuously focus when shooting in Servo mode? Do they just fire off a series of shots using the focus setting for the first shot (until the buffer fills)?
