Don't you wish that Canon decided to do a test market on the Low-Pass Filter Effect Cancellation on crop bodies like say the 2008 50D or 2009 T1i / 500D?
Both bodies have a smaller pixel size of 4.7µm as compared to the D800E or D810's larger 4.87µm pixel size.
If it was too early why not start with the T6i,T6s / 750,760D with pixel size of 3.7µm.
Nikon already have bodies without Optical Low Pass Filters.
1.5x crop
2014 D3300 24.2MP 3.89 µm
2012 D3200 24.2MP 3.84 µm
2015 D5500 24.2MP 3.89 µm
2013 D5300 24.2MP 3.89 µm
2015 D7200 24.2MP 3.89 µm
2013 D7100 24.2MP 3.90 µm
Full Frame
2014 D810 36.3MP 4.87 µm
2012 D800E 36.3MP 4.87 µm
Here's to looking forward to Canon offering a 5D Mark IV or 1D X Mark II without an optical low pass filter.
