How are Foveon resolutions supposed to be expressed?tcmatthews said:danski0224 said:I'm pretty sure that it has a Foveon sensor...
If it is Foveon like, it has the best ISO range ever for a Foveon sensor. That is if ISO 6400 is usable.
The Sigma SD1 sensor is 4800x3200 (x3 layers) capturing light in 46 megaphotodiodes delivering images which are 15.36 megapixels.
If you were to scale Sigma's APS-C to full-frame:
15.36MP x (1.5)^2 x (3 layers) = 34.56MP x (3 layers of equal resolution)
= 103.68 megaphotodiodes
If the Canon sensor is a layered sensor then, is it 50.x megapixels or 50.x megaphotodiodes?
