Problems with 5D3 Live View recording images

Does anyone know if there is a known problem with shooting the 5D3 in LV? My camera body (purchased 12/12) started acting strange a couple of weeks ago. When in LV, the shutter fires, but the camera doesn't record an image. Additionally, the speed at which the shutter fires is not the speed for which the camera is set. When I attempt to press the shutter half-way for AF to kick in, the shutter fires instead of focusing. Video still works. I tried resetting the camera to the factory settings, but that didn't do anything.

Any thoughts? I would hate to send it in for repairs if it's something "easy" that I can handle.

I don't think you're hearing the 'shutter firing' but rather just the mirror flipping. Sounds like your live view AF mode is set to Quick AF, where the mirror flips down for phase detect (viewfinder) AF.

That got it. I don't know when or how it was set the Quick AF, but when I changed it, everything works as it's supposed to. Thanks.
