Dear Friends and All of my great teachers.
I read The Interview " http://www.dpreview.com/articles/5301008561/cp-2015-canon-interview-every-day-im-saying-speed-up "

And Do not understand that " Because the pixel pitch is so similar we’d expect the 5DS and 5DS R to give similar pixel-level image quality as the EOS 7D Mark II, and therefore even better image quality at common viewing sizes. So why is the maximum ISO limit so low?"

The Question is How can 50 MP Quality of Picture of Full Frame sensor of 5DS & R = 20.5 MP. Quality Picture of small sensor of 7D MK II ?
Do I read any wrong in that Interview ?
Thank you, Sir/ Madame.

He is talking about the noise level of tiny individual pixels at high ISO settings. When you look at high MP camera images 1:1 at high ISO settings, individual pixels at higher ISO settings look really bad. Obviously, everyone would like to improve that.

I see adapters saying that they want a high MP body so they can crop more, but I found out that the per pixel noise on my D800 was so high that severe cropping could only take place at ISO 800 or below.

Canon is reflecting the same issue, and being realistic about it.

Those sites that reduce image size to 8MP in order to calculate high ISO performance do not take cropping into account.

It is how they created the sensor. Pixels on the 70D/7DmkII sensor are very small, more refined than previous crop sensors. Then they took that sensor, and enlarged it to be a full frame sensor, keeping the very refined pixels and = 50mp for the full frame version.

The resolution/resolving power of the crop sensor is really good, one can only imagine you can see hair on the amoeba on the eyelash of the model with this new full frame sensor.

Hi surapon!

Concerning the ISO question I would like to add some more:
One thing is the pixel pitch and the enlargement of the 7D II sensor to get the 50 MP.
If it would have been the same pixel design, there should be the same ISO limits as in the 7D II, IMHO.
But I suppose and I think I can recall some discussion about it that Canon would also modify the pixel readout to get better results at low ISO at the cost of losing high ISO performance.

Edit:
7D II = dual Pixel = different design as 5Ds.

I don't think that's correct. The 7D is a dual pixel sensor, totally different from the single pixel sensor on the new 5DS. Do you have any information that I missed saying the new camera is dual pixel??
