I've left my R1 on pre-order while I decided if I wanted to keep it, and have decided to keep it. I ordered from bestbuy to get the 18 months 0% to soften the blow of a 7200 order (after taxes) (Damn taxes). Mine has still not shipped and is saying I'll possibly get it by the 28th. Anyone else seeing a shipping delay on their preorder who ordered during the announcement?

What are the taxes in your area? If the body is USD $6299.99...? Wow. If Seattle, highest in USA, I believe, with it's combined state/city rate of 10.35%, that still seems too high.

I think where I live is about 9.75 or so, but I may be wrong.
Edit, I had forgotten about a protection plan they billed me for but that I am supposed to receive as part of my membership, I'll wait till after I get it to address that as I do not want to mess with the order.

The way it is worded and was explained to me is that if anything happens to it, even if it's my fault, I bring back what's left of it and they either fix it or hand me a new camera. I have never had to use it so I cannot comment on how it really works.

Neuro pointed me to Procam, where they have/had an R1 in stock. I went ahead and ordered one, as I expect Bestbuy to let me down. I believe it will be here Monday.

B&H showed me that they have 158 backorders as of two days ago. They have a shipment of 150 arriving on the 27th, and a second shipment of 150 arriving on the 5th. They were unsure of timing for further shipments. But at least they will have all their back orders/ preorders filled soon.
