Well then what the heck is it? I noticed it seems like it has purple fringing, leading me to believe it's more than just noise from the camera. But who knows.

I vote for a hot pixel. The magenta color is wrong for reflected light. Also, i think geostationary distance is something like 22K miles out, so pretty small source to show up on a wide angle lens.

See my post on the last page. I ran another 24min exposure with a body cap on. Sure enough it's still there. It's a hot pixel.
