Post your shots from Canon's first non-L lens reaching 400mm. The lens is light enough to bring along while traveling but delivers image quality nearly as good as the RF 100-500, at a surprisingly low price.
For many, this will be a great lens for birds and wildlife, and with the close minimum focus distance yielding a 0.41x magnification at just under 1 m, it's also great for insects. Although not a common subject for a long lens like this, my main use of it so far has been landscapes.
"Salina" – One of the Aeolian Islands north of Sicily, seen from Mt. Etna (90 km away)
EOS R8, RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM @ 400mm, 1/400 s, f/8, ISO 1000
"Etna Smoke" – Southeast Crater on Mt. Etna, seen from the Etna Observatory at 2800 m.
EOS R8, RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM @ 100mm, 1/125 s, f/5.6, ISO 800
