thanks, I'll keep you updated. So far, I didn't encounter any focus problems in any light situation. In the museum shots, it's halogen and tungsten, mixed with daylight. I have two jobs coming, one Sunday, one Monday to Wednesday. Daylight, indoor tungsten, indoor fluorescent, energy-savers, all mixed with daylight. I'll try the Sigma 50A, have the 24-70/2.8 L II with me as backup.
After completing to upload the 3 JPEGS from RAW, I'll add six night-shots, 960px, EXIF intact.
Cheers,
Jens

I do combine the 41 cross-type sensors with half-pressiong the shutter-release three/four times in rapid succession ("spamming" the trigger, as Viggo said). So far, I am very happy with the results, couldn't detect mis-focus. Focus tracking, skin and eyes are still on my to-do-list ...
There is only one firmware version to choose from, the one it came with.Dylan777 said:Eldar said:Well Jens, That looks about what mine produced to begin with. I was very taken with the lens. What do you mean? Did you do any firmware update? or any AFMA yourself?
I'm little... ??? ??? ???

Sure hope I'm not getting one of the lenses the OCD folk are tweaking to death and returning. The stories here of lens churn are revolting.

Yes I have had it through FoCal and a manual Lens Align. The problem is that the AF is unstable. One shot front focus, next shot back focus, third shot is dead on etc. FoCal was unable to determine the AFMA factor. The chart looked like it had been hit by a shot gun. That´s why I did a manual job with my Lens Align setup. It was depressing to see how much focus varied from one shot to the other.
I posted some images a couple of pages back on this thread.
Comment: Sorry; The images are on the other Sigma thread ...

I thought you mentioned AF on your 50mm ART is much better over 35mm ART? So, you and Viggo are not happy with AF? I wonder how is wickidwombat's copy doing...
Eldar said:I have signed up at Nikon rumors (felt almost like a criminal) and posted a question there, to check if they have similar experiences. Apparently very few Nikon versions have been delivered, so the only answer I have so far is that there is none. I will follow up though.

Sigma claims all they need is the lens, not lens and body, so...Why can't Sigma simply include specific camera profiles in their USB dock software? "Click here for 5D Mk III" etc.
Viggo, I can, unfortunately, imagine the frustration. Question: You mentioned you had been sick. Was it contagious? Could the lens have become sick too? Maybe it just needed a little rest and chicken soup.
