My card was charged this morning by Adorama in the amount of the pre-order for the 85mm lens, so I gave them a call. They confirmed that my lens was indeed at the warehouse and shipping out today. That puts the lens in my hands by next Tuesday or Wednesday.
I currently own the Sigma 85mm Art lens and didn't manage to sell it before the new Canon was released, so I plan to test these lenses head-to-head. I have 2 portrait sessions next week and one of them is with a friend, so I think I should be able to try out a lot of stuff.
I'll be testing chromatic aberration, flare, sharpness, and image rendering from 1.4-2.0. Nothing too scientific, but should be a fun time.
Even if I confirm the Canon isn't as sharp and has worse CA, I still plan to sell the Sigma...unless the new Canon really sucks - which I don't see being the case. LOL
