It looks like the Canon EOS R5 Mark II will continue with the 5 series lineage and keep the fast card/SD card memory card configuration. So we’ll get a CFexpress Type B slot along with a UHS-II SD card slot. Starting with the Canon EOS 5D Mark III, Canon has used this configuration in all

You are kidding me, aren't you?! Get finally rid of those SD Cards, please!

Yet another disappointment from Canon, while others seem to have little to none heat dissipation problems.

Only the Nikon Z9 has dual CFe Type B cards, The Z8 is CFe Type B & SD. Sony uses Type A which is a single lane standard. Type B is dual lane, hence the higher speeds and with that, more heat.

Not sure why this surprises anyone. Expecting dual CFE on a 5-series would be like expecting a version that was pink.

On my R3, I write raw files to both cards and usually use the SD card to pull the images off. Sure, the transfer speed is slower… But the overall process is faster since I can just stick the card in the slot on the side side of my MB Pro laptop or Stone Pro dock rather than having to dig out, connect, disconnect, and put away a dedicated card reader.

I wish computer cases came with SD card readers beside the USB ports. Multiple card readers are a pain.

Should be a CR3 rating :)

I was very happy when Apple brought back the sd card slot in the mbp! Sd card for off load from camera is the simplest option for me. Not great for clearing buffer but switching to craw improves it

Totally agree with you. The mix of both card types (CFE and SD) is a positive feature. For demanding workflows really needing high transfer rates you always can take the CFE card with its reader, anyway.

Same card types in kind of a dealbreaker for me.
It might have been nice to have 2 SD lots on the R5/II. It is nice to match, but for me not really an issue. The R5 though really needs a CFe slot for the video side. SD just won't cut it there, speed for some resolutions, but size for most of them. Not an issue for me again, as I shoot almost no video, but that's a big deal for the market in general.

Having a pink Prosumer camera is absolutely the way to go. Canon is way behind in colouring their line up appropriately for modern times. All the other camera manufacturers have this already and personally this is an absolute no go.
If Canon doesn't come clean and give us a pink R5, I'm going to switch to Sony.

Well, pink camera bodies might dissipate heat faster than black...
