What are the pros and cons of ISO 50 if you shoot in raw?

I am hearing things from less noise, to less DR in highlights. From it is the same as ISO 100 if you drop down a stop in post. I stayed away from it in shooting but now that I am transitioning to primes and the 28-70 2.0, for outdoor and studio, I have more use for it than ever.

Depends on what the sensor's "native" ISO is. If you shoot some Nikons at ISO 64 you absolutely get more DR because their sensors can store maybe half a stop more electrons per photosite before saturating. With Canon bodies ISO 50 is a digital transformation, like the "H" ISO settings, and should be exactly the same as overexposing by a stop and pulling in post if you shoot RAW. Either way shadow noise is reduced and you get to use a larger aperture and/or slower shutter speed, but at the expense of losing a whole stop of DR in the highlights.

This past week was my first time shooting at ISO 50 because I didn't have my ND filter handy and was at 1/8000 sec shutter speed @f/1.2. I had no problems. Third photo was also at ISO 50.
