What to do with a broken 70-200 f/2.8 IS mkI?

Our 70-200 f/2.8 IS mkI hit the concrete this year, and after sending it to Canon for a repair quote, it'd cost more to repair it than to buy another used one ($1500).

Canon shipped the lens back to me, so now the question is: What should I do with it?
Do people actually pay ok money for shattered lenses?

I've heard of people turning lenses into cool household items like teabag holders. Any neat ideas?

A Platinum CPS memeber could buy it and repair it for 60% of what they quoted you. Let them know the quote amount, they might be able to make a few dollars.

Be willing to send it to ship it to USA if you sell it on ebay.
Still, you might get more and it will be better than making a pencil holder out of it.

Frame it and display it like a trophy. That would be cool - really!

If that's mine, I would cut and surround it with Plexiglas and display it in my desk.

There are lots of good parts left, sell it for parts on ebay, and it may allow repair of several other lenses.
