What to do with an old 17-85 f4-5.6 IS USM?

I have an old 17-85 f4-5.6 IS USM that hasn't been used in about 4 years but is still in excellent condition. I've searched around briefly and the most I can get for it seems to be about $100-$150 (originally paid about $600 in 2008). What do other people do with lenses like this that will probably never get used again?

(+1 Neuro)
- give it to local school's camera club/class
- get a donation refund thru some local charity
- dismantle, and find out what's inside
- use it as shooting target
- mount a reverse ring, and play with it
- sell it for >$100; buy some gadget you need/want with it/add up to new lens fund

lol ... what a shame! I really liked mine. The 17-85mm and a 50mm 1.4 were my first "real" lenses after outgrowing the kit lens on my T1i. I still have the 50mm but sold the 17-85mm to a buddy when I went FF. I shot ALOT of frames on that lens and learned a lot from it. I bought it used as well years before from someone who loved it but was going FF as well.

The lens will give decent results on the longer end and really benefits from software correction from dxo and DPP. I think its more useful now because of that than it was a few years ago but there are better options nowadays

PS. Wackocrash, do you play a 5150 or are you just crazy?
