Wildflower Photos

A few wildflowers images from the Smoky Mountains. All are shot with a Canon 180mm macro and the Canon 5D Mark IV using live view to focus manually, exposure set manually using the live RGB histogram and adjusted to produce the first blinkies, and tripping the shutter by using the Touch Shutter set to Sensitive. A tripod is used in each case to shoot the focus stacks that are combined with Helicon Focus..

Hi John!

Really nice series.

But you seem to have a dust issue, most visible in the BG blur of #1, 2, 4.
Please look halfways to the upper left corner, where some darker "worm" is visible.
By size and form I am not sure if it's on the sensor or in the lens.

Nice, and thanks for posting. I've not seen a white dwarf crested iris. What species is the white trillium?

Thanks, Click. I should mention that there were taken with a 70mm Sigma Art + 5DIV. Using AF and off-camera flash.

Trillium grandiflorum along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. Some of the white trilliums in this area are pink; possibly they are interbreeding with the Trillium erectum also in this area.
