Your lenses for weddings?

Though the gear I use continues to be updated here is the current setup and why.

Canon 17-40L --> Ultra-ultra wide effect on the 5D ii, works in close quarters or for venue shots
Canon 24L --> Fast wide prime for low light, though I like it best on the 7D for a walk-around, and ceremony
Canon 35L --> Beautiful colors, well fitted for either the 5Dii or an APS-C, great for walk-around and pre-ceremony
Canon 70-200 2.8ii --> My most used lens on the 5D ii, usually fast enough, and great auto focus speed
Canon 85L --> Beautiful portrait lens, wicked fast f/1.2, but often quite slow to focus, typically post-ceremoy
Canon 100L Macro --> Ring shots & various details, typically pre-ceremony

I hope this helps!

For the first one or two, I used only the 17-40, 50 1.4, 35L, and rented 70-200

I use 2 cameras APS-C. The main with lens Tokina 16-50mm F2.8 and flash. The second camera I use no flash, with 50mm F1.4, 100mm F2, and Sigma 10-20mm.

Tokina 16-50mm does a good job, and I love have 1mm wider than other similar zoom.

Canon 50mm F1.4 has good image when I use Aperture F1.8, and F2.5 this is excellent.

Canon 100mm F2 has good image even with maximum aperture and focus is fast and quiet.

Sigma 10-20 F4-5.6 has reasonable picture in 10mm F4, and very good at 10mm F5.6, but I do not use very much at weddings. Samyang 10mm F2.8 hopefully be a decent substitute for a fair price.

Sigma 35/1.4 Art - incredibly sharp wide open, love it the most. From the morning till night.

Canon 70-200/2.8L II IS - for portrait work - sharp and fast precise AF. Nice results, but heavy and attracts much attention

Canon 24-70/2.8L - not perfect lens, but fast AF and useful for fast moments when moving from one part to another

Canon 17-40/4L - just in case, that I would need something really wide (not using that much)

Canon 50/1.4 - for playing with DOF with details (but now I am using Sigma 35 more)

Canon 85/1,8 - is waiting in my car, just in case I would need it (but not :) )

--------

I can imagine to work just with combo of FF + 35 + 50 + 135 (85) to get the best results.

Waiting for Sigma 50/1,4 Art. Dreaming about Sigma 85/1,4 Art. And would like to change 24-70 for 24-70/2,8 II. :)

Just doing my first few... 24-70 for most, especially with flash (use a Flashbender for diffusion)... 70-200 if you are at the back... primes (50 1.2 and 85 1.2) if time permits for portraiture. The 24-70 is the "one lens" that's most important for me, especially if you can control your distance somewhat, or have to use flash.
