Zeiss 35 1.4 for people. Is it a good choice?

HI,
this is my first post after a while I keep reading this very interesting forum.
I found the "Zeiss look" very interesting and I wonder if somebody that has the 35 1.4 could give me her/his experience.
I've had the Zeiss ZE2, but I'd light to a a 1.4 lens. And I think i can have fun with it and my 5d mark II. Any ideas?

Would manual focusing be hard with people?
unless your shooting portraits, something like street work might be difficult.

I had the Zeiss 35 2 and after a while it was ok also with (not too much) moving people.
Will with the 1.4 be so much more difficult?

It will only be harder to focus if you open up the aperture lots and are very close to your subject.
