With the CP+ show out of the way, Canon will likely be focusing on the NAB 2023 show in Las Vegas, which starts on April 15, 2023.

Canon just announced the Canon EOS R8 and Canon EOS R50 camera bodies alongside the compact Canon RF 24-50mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM and crop lens the Canon RF-S 55-210 f/5-7.1 IS STM. These camera announcements modernized the consumer side of the EOS R lineup.

Now it's time for Cinema EOS.

It has been a long time size Canon make a Cinema EOS splash with a new camera body and/or new technologies. We do think that a lot of new products were either delayed or reworked.

Here are the latest rumored new products for the Cinema EOS line-up that we think could be announced ahead of NAB in April.

    • Canon Cinema EOS C200 Mark II
    • Canon Cinema EOS C700 Mark II
    • RF Mount Cinema Prime Lenses

We expect an RF mount to be the default mount on the Cinema EOS C200 Mark II.

With the success of the Canon Cinema EOS C70, there have been suggestions of a Cinema EOS C50 more recently, but we have been unable to confirm if this is new information, or recycled information from a couple of years ago.

Maybe the cine primes will give us some indication of what is coming.
      Hopefully we get 24 T1.3 and 35 T1.3.

That C200 replacement took a very long time, I remember it was a very common camera used to cover MotoGP post race celebrations.

Yes, all of these slow lenses that Canon are releasing. Would like Canon to get on top of releasing the fast primes. No DSLR excuse now. The competition is releasing fast primes while Canon is content on releasing F 4 and F 5 lenses.

It is time for canon to re-enter the cine world. While I and many others love the canon cine cameras they are getting dated and canon is seriously falling behind. Their current range is fantastic and the is no need for more features necessarily but the issue is new purchasers are going with other systems just be canons is no quite a good or ‘new’.

This will be a huge issue in the future. Canon needs the new buyers to support the system growth. We need to trust can has the ability and will to really get in a fight for a spot. They have the tech they just need to put it in their cameras. Do what Arri and red does. Put everything in the cameras and dominate.

I live the canon cine cameras but they have to do rf nount, ProRes internal, nd and SDI connections. Miss this and they will lose out.

It is good if Canon upgrade their Cinecameras, but I miss a shulder mount Canon camera, like URSA mini.

I\'d be happy with an RF mount version of the 18-80 compact servo lens - with a little updated tech.

I’ve been buying Canon still cams for a long time. The first ENG lens on my first Betacam was a Canon. My first DSLR was the 5DmkII. I got the original C300 and I have a full set of their Cine primes, plus the 17-120 and 25-250. Canon’s problem is they still just don’t get the “Cine camera” market. The colors and skin tones are beautiful, but the cameras are a complete pain in the d*** to use. I shot with the C300 for years and loved the image, but absolutely dreaded it every time I had to pick it up. As opposed to my Amira that just gets out of my way and let’s me shoot and has buttons, knobs and connections in reasonably convenient places.

Canon will never be a player in the high-end “Cine” camera world, en-mass, baring something just incredible and Earth shattering happening.

Any more news about the upcoming Cinema cameras that are gonna be announced at NAB? It has been quiet on this front and I thought we would have heard something by now since NAB is very soon......
