  1. Looking at the price I assume this lens will have to use digital correction to get a useable image. ‘Specifications’ never mention this.
At 28mm and f/2.8, possibly not. I'll find out on Monday, hopefully. DxO already supports the 28/2.8, I quite like this new trend of them getting the gear before release so immediate support is available.

When you get yours it would be really helpful if you could share your results of the optical correction.
If it is optically corrected then at that price I’d buy one tomorrow to match the lightweight RP.
Also speaking personally I prefer 28 to 24mm.
  3. Nice, it wasn't supposed to be available yet, Canon USA and B&H still say July 6th though earlier information stated June 30th. Ordered from Adorama, mine should arrive on Monday.
I'll be very interested in your take.
  4. Lens arrived today (Adorama initially said Monday, but once UPS got the lens it was Wednesday...seems Adorama ships from Tennessee now). Grabbed a quick first image in the yard, very nice lens and it will come with my on my imminent trip. Also shot the open sky, there is no mechanical vignetting in the corners with the lens (but the optical vignetting is a few stops in the corners). I was wrong above about DxO support, I had a quick look on my phone and misread the EF 28/2.8 lenses, the new RF pancake is not supported yet.

This the uncorrected output from DxO:
