  1. just because you’re a strict photographer doesn’t mean everyone else. no, the majority of us (vast, vast majority) will never become pro videographers. probably not even decent videographers. doesn’t mean people don’t take a serious interest in their equipment and their hobby — the same way that photography is still a hobby for most people, even a lot of the people with 5D bodies.

  2. Sometimes I think companies pull this $h!T just so they can appear to ‘rectify’ the issue and look like the good guy, build brand loyalty and sell more stuff.

In fact, I think that all the time. Anyway….

    EPIC! WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO……!!! :)

  3. As a contrast to all the hooray yelling people here: what the hell takes them so long to implement a new video mode? Obviously Canon has exactly one firmware developer and this person is occupied until 2010 …

  4. October 2008: “Whaaaa! We have no manual exposure for video!”

    Canon fixes it.

Through October 2009: “Whaaaaa! We have no 24p!”

    Canon fixes it.

We end up with a 21mp insane still camera that also produces 1080p at 30fps and now 24p and 25p coming… and it’s under 3 grand…

AND WE THEN HAVE TO COMPLAIN THAT WE WANT BETTER AF AND 720P AND MINIMUM AUTO ISO??? Why on earth doesn’t anyone appreciate how MUCH we have at our fingertips??
