Hoping to get a 5D Mark IV Soon? Canon has launched some kind of virtual/augmented reality platform for quicker and most cost effective product development. It looks like the technology allows designers to change designs on the fly. So if you wanted to move a button on a camera and figure out how it feels ergonomically, you can do it far quicker than chiseling out a new mockup. New Ultrawide Zoom There has been chatter about the possibilty of this lens since the day after Nikon announced their highly regarded 14-24 lens. The latest is we’ll see this lens announced within the next 12 months. As always, nailing down lens announcement dates is near impossible with Canon. It was suggested that the EF 14-24 f/2.8L would be announced after the EF 200-400 f/4L IS 1.4x begins shipping, suspected late in 2012 or the first half of 2013. A good review of the new Canon Rebel T4i The folks at Cinema 5D have posted a review of the new Canon EOS Rebel T4i/650D. From Cinema 5D about their test camera “The beta firmware version had some limitations like I couldn’t adjust the white balance or had wrong exposure at times. This should be resolved in the final version. In the UK Just a heads up that the Canon EF 40 f/2.8 STM pancake lens is starting to appear in stock. The first report of stock comes from WEX photographic in the UK. The wait is almost over. According to Canon Japan, the Canon EOS-1D X will be officially released on June 20, 2012. With the EOS-1D X, the following accessories will also be available: LP-E4N, LC-E4N, EW-E7, Ec-CV & WFT-E6B. The GP-E1 is listed for a July, 2012 release.
