We have reported in the past that Canon would announced one more RF mount camera in 2022 after the release of both the Canon EOS R10 and Canon EOS R7.
The Canon EOS R100 will reportedly take on the form factor of past EOS M cameras such as the Canon EOS M6 Mark II, which has been long discontinued.
This information comes from an unknown source, so please treat it accordingly.
Canon EOS R100 Specifications (Rumored)
- 24.2mp APS-C Sensor
- DIGIC X
- 12fps (Mechanical)
- Dual Pixel AF II
- 1.04 4million dot Vari-Angle Touchscreen
- No EVF
- New accessories will launch with the camera, what they are is unknown at this time
As you can see from the rumored specifications, the camera is pretty much a small form factor Canon EOS R10 without an EVF. We don't think that this should surprise anyone.
We do hold out hope that the Canon EOS R100 will also be able to shoot 4K/60P, that would give Canon a small advantage over some entry level competitors.
We also hope that Canon has plans for both an RS-S and RF pancake lenses, there needs to be at least one RF mount camera that fits in your pocket in the lineup.
