I've received and searched out information in regards to the 24-105 f/4L IS “stealth” upgrade that may be happening with the 5D Mark II kit.
It's a 50/50 split of bogus/true.
I think it's bogus personally. The lens will become a lot cheaper to get with the kit, replacement “upgrade” lenses don't make prices lower.

I think it is totally Bogus. Someone was just bored and made it up.
Can you please block the “Yes on Prop 8” ads coming from Google adsense? I don’t really want to see this when I come to learn about photography equipment.
