Why? Canon has optimized FSI designs to the point where they have slightly faster readout and slightly less noise than Sony does with their BSI and stacked sensors.

The R5m2 tracked the bird even through some branches which covered nearly the hole bird (between the third and fourth picture). Very good performence!

I didn’t notice this until a few years ago. I always wondered why the rear cap on EF lenses was sometimes loose. It took me years to realize that if the lens doesn’t have a rubber gasket (non-L) and you put the cap on in the wrong orientation (two out of three positions), it will be loose.

I also checked the new RF caps and they have alignment marks as well, so you can still use the same method – you can find the correct orientation by feeling for the mark on the cap with your fingers.

Sigma 105mm f/1.4 has 105mm filter size
Nikon 105mm f/1.4 has 82mm filer size.

If they can manage to do it in the VCM filter size of 67mm with out having -4 eV in the corners colour me impressed

Oh - did not ppl claim, when r50V was released, that for video, you don't need IBIS? So why they have included one here then?

I've saved up for the M6 version with hopefully an OLED screen and a significant processing boost over M5. At least a 5 year lifecycle makes sense for me and I still should get back something as a trade-in.
I don't see the point of touchscreen though. Hard enough to keep the current screen clean enough to remove backscatter and bright pixels from shots without competition from fingerprint marks.
Going between my corporate PC and my personal MacBook Pro reminds me of how good macbook pros are!

l buy - and am waiting for - the R7m2 and in all probability will not make any purchases from Canon

Like you, I don't need AF or the tilt-function. But many pros and serious users want and need shift AND tilt.
Sadly, it has grown silent about the 100 MP EOS. Yet, good surprises cannot be excluded...
Not too much to ask for ?

It’s interesting, it seems very unexciting. Nothing in that list really grabs my attention. I’ve just offloaded a lot of Ef gear to semi fund an R5 II and an RF 70-200 2.8. I was waiting for an R3 II or a new high MP R5. I think it will be a long wait. I have an R5 already and it’s a great camera. I’ll be interested to see if the R5 II is much of an improvement. This will be all camera companies dilemmas from now on. What is there to improve? The wow factor of 2000-2020 will be long gone. It’s hard to even imagine how a lens can be improved from now on.

I’d be happy if they keep the R6ii sensor (they need to cripple something) but ad IBIS.

That seems logical to me.
