I think you gave them a serious point to think about, by the way, any small 100-400mm lens will have this probelm. A good gimble can solve part of the problem, IBIS or electronical stabilasation devive will also help. I think that most drones use wida angle lens because they aimed at "areal view" not "pin-point" things.

For context: even with my 7D Mk II, I can get sharp, detailed, noiseless - and I do mean that literally - images at approaching 5-digit ISOs, by converting in PN: 3200 ISO is literally no different to 320 ISO in terms of the quality of the output.

And I'm north of 20,000 ISO before I even notice any noise from my 1D X files.

It's not just the noise reduction (which is edge-aware, incidentally, and beats anything else available, including the much-lauded PRIME NR in DxO/Photolab): PN's demosaicing algorithm is better than any other out there.

I was a beta-tester for DxO; I've beta tested for Phase One (Capture One Pro) and I was on the Adobe (Lightroom) Certified Professional (ACP) programme before I dropped Lightroom. NR and demosaicing algorithm testing has always been my thing, and Photo Ninja is just way better than any of them in terms of basic rendering quality.

So why would I be interested in Sony? I find myself wondering...

Not sure if anyone saw the review on DPReview, but they shard some very blurry, hazy images in their review. I personally didn't like this lens, but it was certainly very sharp.

The lack of CA is really impressive, I used this lens to during my daughters swimming lessons and no issues with the reflected light on the water. And f/1.2 at that distance is great for putting other kids outside the DoF

Although I really want to know what it will be too, as I'm looking to upgrade a 200D. I'll either get the M5 Mk. II and EF adapter or, if that's too expensive for my limited budget, a used 80D on ebay.

And that’s exactly what I do with my RP. My compact Fuji x-e3+35mm 1.4 combo now usually get left behind in favor of this combo. The Fuji is smaller and lighter, but not enough to matter compared to the quality impact (AF, light gathering, isolation, etc)

Only thing I can think of is that function where you can tell the camera to not continue to try and focus if focus can’t be achieved. You can either tell it to keep trying or simply stop.

Many posts here are redolent of the period when Canon first introduced IS. I recall one forum poster who declared they'd never accept "wobbly bits" in their lenses! Another who said Nikon would never go beyond their first VR lens (a 100-400 IIRC?), years after Canon had IS across their entire "super" tele line.
I actually dumped all my Nikon gear, including the 800mm f/5.6 in order to get the Canon 600/4 IS when it was introduced. To my purpose, no feature was more essential than IS. I still feel that way. What has changed is that Canon is no longer a leader. While my 600/4 is gone, I still have the 300/2.8 IS.
IBIS is where it's at for me. I have been teetering on getting into Sony because of their mirrorless/IBIS bodies. Not sure I can wait for Canon. They're awfully slow to catch up. So different from how it was 15 years ago.

Make no mistake! People are hesitating to buy Canon bodies precisely because they lack IBIS!

I'd like to get the C-LOG upgrade for my 5D4. Does anybody know whether the camera has to be disassembled for the upgrade?
CPS Germany has done a less than perfect job in the past and I'd really like to avoid them disassembling the camera if possible. I'm concerned about weather sealing being compromised in the process.
