Hardly, given sufficient suppliy the market is the result of demand (= what the people buy), not what is best quality item for a price because there are a lot of other factors at play, even in a transparent market - which it usually isn't thanks to marketing :-o
For dslrs that would be existing equipment (learning loss and loss of selling and re-buying lenses), brand attachment and 3rd party enhancements, namely Magic Lantern. Add all these and Canon can very well sell an inferior product at a higher price while Nikon simply selling cheaper might not do them any good. There is also the "snob effect" which means a higher product produces more demand because it has to be better, right

I know this is getting a little off topic, but to continue:
From my own personal point of view I came across more D600 adverts than I did 6D, but I think it is really quite simple. To the average Joe who wants to upgrade to FF and doesn't have commitment to a system the 6D is simply more aesthetically pleasing than the D600/610. It's as simple as that. Also Nikon seem to fail to understand that fore mentioned Joe sees a camera without pop up flash as much more 'professional' than one with it.

Jd....I think I understand what you're saying....
I have shot at poor light sporting events where the action is stopped, and I continue to shoot manual at 1/1000 and ISO 3200, even though the subjects are moving slow or not moving much....they are exposed correctly, but the image quality would be better if I quickly switched to 1/500 and ISO 1600....or maybe 1/250 and ISO 800
I probably should use my custom settings more to do this.
Hey Northstar, thanks for all of your help! The tips you gave on editing and cropping are very helpful!
Right now, I can't get the high end 70-200 simply because I don't have the money. I'll use the 70-300 for friday's match and hopefully I can get some good pictures.
I wouldn't worry. It will take less that 10 years... probably ;DMitch.Conner said:TommyLee said:I believe Canon issued the non-I.S. first because it wouldn't sell...later

I'm really hoping this is the case. I've been thinking about trading in my fairly new 24-105 5D3 kit lens towards a 24-70 II, but considering the hit I'll take on the trade-in, I feel compelled to keep using it in the hopes that a 24-70 II with IS is in the nearish future. The "ish" after "near" is a concern though.
In the flash exposure menu, you can set flash firing to off. The focus assist will still workStudentOfLight said:My 50mm f1.4 is the same, and I feel a very disappointing lens purchase. It is my least favourite lens (that I still own).
Anyway, I know that you said you don't want to use flash to light your scene but couldn't you just use the AF-assist beam. Flash power set to minimum, point the head off to the side (or behind you) so it won't have significant impact on the exposure?

Anyway lots of folks use ML RAW because it is THAT awesome. SOOOOO much more detail than you get from 5D3 internal or Ninja recording and SOOOOOOO much more processing latitude. SOOOOOO much richer colors! I
It is amazing, but it also requires SOOOOO much more hard drive space, SOOOO much more computing power, and processing is SOOOOO much more involved.

Marsu42 said:They have got a nice forum: http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum ... look in the "new ports" section for updates on your camera, generally you will want to use the nightly releases since they include the latest features/fixes and are probably more stable than anything else.Krob78 said:Is there a website that I can watch for updates or news or any of that sort of thing regarding ML?

I've just heard that Zeiss 135 f1.8 T has more pleasant color rendition than Canon, is that true? Sorry for off top. Thank you, guys.
