I haven't played much with a 6D but still find that is unexpected behavior.
Everything that I've used with that 63 zone metering sensor has provided excellent metering and AWB.

Can you compare your 6D with another, side-by-side, same lens?

No, unfortunately I don't know anyone else with a 6D. It sounds like I'm not the only one with this sort of problem from the above comments.

Never understood why canon released the 24-70 f/4 IS

The IS should go to the 24-70 2.8 which is hell expensive, and also a second version of the beloved 24-105 would be a wise upgrade if existed.

Do you shoot film? A dSLR sensor is insensitive to UV, so there's no difference between clear and UV filters.

i agree with BozillaNZ,

It does sound like you pulled the lens of the camera without turning the camera off first."is"doesn't like that .

Just turn off body, put on lens, turn on camera, take a picture with "is "on, turn off camera , remove lens.
Does it still rattle??

I had the same thing with my 100L is and this resolved the problem.

Portability is not an issue, because i'm used to carry heavy stuff.
Money is the issue, and i wonder, if the 1Dii and the 1DiiN are still worth thinking about.

While the Zeiss quality is unquestionable, the versatility of the Canon zooms make them indispensable in my opinion.
I'd take a manual lens of high quality for video anytime, but for photo, I'd go Canon zoom straight away.

Also, the new 16-35 2.8L II is improved a lot over the first version. Yay at sharp images!

To sum up the story and consequently provide closure... I went onto ebay... found a RAY Flash (which would fit my 580ex ii and 5D mkiii) being sold for $100 or $90 and I made an offer for $55 including shipping. It was refused and a counter offer of $80 was made. I said no. Meh... zero net sum gain...

I then waited 2 more days and and about an hour or two before the buy it now auction ends, I offer $65 and it is accepted. So I'll wait patiently for the mail to arrive and I am guessing I will have it on Monday since the seller is only about 2 hours away from me.

It's crazy... in the last week I have spent $25 on a Rogue Flashbender, $65 on a Ray Flash, $12 on a umbrella mount bracket, $4 on an umbrella, $80 on Yongnuo's YN622 ettl flash triggers.

And I hate shooting with flash... so I must have lost my mind.

Just bought it. Could not resist, considering the price at BH and Amaz. Just what I wanted and a great price. USA warranty, new lens. Canon Rumors had it listed at a much higher price, when I checked it out, it was even lower! Gone for now.
Will go well with my 1D.

I think Mpeg Streamclip is pretty much the defacto free transcoder for DSLR video. Compressor also works if you're on a mac.

You can mount it on a 5D, but the image won't cover the sensor until zoomed in to 35mm, at which point there will still be much more dropoff than is generally acceptable until stopped down to f5.6 or so.

Short answer: it mounts, but isn't useful. But it's technically EF mount.

One of my very favorite lenses is the Leica Summicron 75mm f2.0. Paired with the 35mm Summilux there is very little that I would "miss" on a photo shoot. The canon 24/50/85 L trio might be interesting but I'm not sure I'd
like to carry it for extended distance or time.

But it is pretty much your description. If the car is has been bought and owned for a few months, and has mileage on it, it's still used

Well done. I hope they add those shots to all "good" cams they tested.

By the way: There is an old bank note in the lower part of the picture. It let me smile when I recognised, that this old bank note came from Austria in the mid of Europe. I wonder, how this came to the USA and jonied dpreview´s chart. ;-)

Their latest lenses are IQ competitive with the best OEM and the performance/cost ratio is very good too.

I've never experienced tardy service from Canon Canada but if Tamron's trying to make 3 day turn-around service on their lenses that's gonna be a bit irksome to the likes of Canon and Nikon who will only expedite service for their paid-up pro members.

I am happy with the 6D as it is, I have found it to be superior to the 7D in picture quality and all round better than the 5D MkII. It may well be dumbed down so that people who pay extra for a Mk III certainly see some difference for the money.

The Wi-Fi functionality is also very useful an innovative, certainly was one of the factors I looked at when upgrading from the 'top of the line' 7D.

It may be a budget FF but it is a Canon FF none the less and takes wonderful pictures and has low light perfomance yet to be equalled!!

Hi folks, some of the best are not gps enabled, just the farcebook postings, this is where I live, this is me getting on the plane for a fortnights holiday in x!
Wasn't there a furore a couple of years ago someone did a please burgle me to highlight the excess info people give out no need for gps when you post your full address and holiday dates!

The counters reset to zero every 10,000 shots. The seller may have been reading the current shutter count. In any case, 26,996 is absolutely nothing to a 1D4. Barely run in. I'll frequently run up 25,000 frames in a month on my 1D4 which must be up over 500,000 clicks by now. My old 1D MkIIn must have had over 750,000 clicks when I gave it to an assistant who has added a couple of hundred thousand more....all on the original shutter.

I have run with 1-Series Canons since the 1D. The only one I've missed was the flawed 1D3. They all have run up into the several hundreds of thousands on original shutters without blinking. There are plenty of 1-Series Canons with well over a million clicks still in robust daily use.

Even if your 1D4 had over 100,000 clicks on it you still got a good buy. Just forget it and enjoy your fantastic new camera. The 1D4 is a gem.

BTW, some grad ND filters and a pol filter are much more helpful in landscape photography than the best lens. Really useful is also a tripod with a ball head and maybe a panorama plate on top. It slows you down but helps a lot to fine tune the composition of your photo.

If you are really serious about landscape photography, get the TS-E 24 L II. It's a great lens and probably the best 24mm lens for a Canon camera available. The difference to the 16-35 is easily noticeable in the corners. But the pol filter, grad nd filters, tripod and ball head are much more useful and should be bought first. The lens alone doesn't make great pictures.
